Stockholm – our capital with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions

We work for everyone living here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.

Stockholm is thriving as the country's leading growth region. We work for a labor market where everyone can find their place – where employers find the right skills and where people get the opportunity to enter or return to working life. We support the journey of Stockholmers towards work or studies through labor market initiatives and adult education.

This is Jobbtorg Stockholm

Jobbtorg Stockholm is a department within the labor market administration of the City of Stockholm that works with labor market initiatives.

We provide support to young people and adults who are outside the labor market – through conversations, coaching, collaboration, and educational pathways. We have about 500 employees working in 24 units throughout the city.

The film about Jobbtorg Stockholm

Welcome to Jobbtorg Unga Järva – a part of Jobbtorg Stockholm

In our unit, we have 18 employees: job coaches, study and career counselors, a receptionist, and a unit manager. Our culture is characterized by engagement, flexibility, strong team spirit, and a genuine focus on believing in and supporting our youth. We are a cheerful and driven team striving for results but above all for each individual to succeed.

Our mission

At Jobbtorg Unga Järva, we work to help more young adults find their way to work or studies. We meet the target group of young adults aged 19–29 who are neither working nor studying, who apply for financial assistance, or are current within the social intervention group. With us, you have the opportunity to make a concrete difference every day.

Where we are

In your position, you will be based in our modern location in Kista Galleria near public transport, but you will also work at our other offices around the city.

A day with us

Starts with a joint check-in followed by a business meeting. The rest of the day is dedicated to planned new visits and follow-up visits. A lot of time is spent on employer searches.

We offer

  • A secure employment within the City of Stockholm
  • Wellness grant of 3,000 SEK/year
  • Collegial learning and good development opportunities

Your role

We are now looking for two temporary job coaches. The roles will work according to the Supported Employment (SE) method to support, motivate, and guide the target group to find, obtain, and retain a job or studies with the aim of becoming self-sufficient.

The role may involve some local presence in other parts of the Järva area, which means that evening work may occur.

Your main tasks include:

  • registering and mapping young adults and establishing individual plans
  • motivating, following up, and coaching based on a MI-inspired approach
  • actively seeking out employers, matching individuals, and supporting both the individual and the employer
  • planning and structuring your work independently while also contributing to the team's overall results
  • documenting in the operational system and collaborating with several actors, both internally and externally
  • participating in development work and contributing to a flexible and accessible operation.

You will work with many processes simultaneously. The calendar is your most important tool; you need to be able to schedule both new registrations, follow-ups, and employer visits each week.

Your skills and experience

Academic education with a focus on behavioral science, social studies, sociology, or equivalent experience.

Good knowledge of the Swedish language both orally and in writing.

Employees at Jobbtorg Stockholm:

  • Work towards goals and change direction when circumstances change
  • See the big picture and consider the broader perspective
  • Share knowledge and collaborate with colleagues

Meritorious:

  • Experience working with employer contacts
  • Good knowledge of the Office package, Outlook, and working and documenting within digital operational systems (e.g., CRM)
  • Training in Supported Employment (SE)
  • Training in Motivational Interviewing (MI)
  • Knowledge of Individual Placement and Support (IPS)
  • Experience working within a politically governed organization

For this position, we place particular emphasis on the following competencies:

  • Goal and results-oriented
  • Ability to collaborate
  • Holistic view
  • Professional
  • Self-driven

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

We will interview continuously during the application period. The City of Stockholm works with competency-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's skills and thus counteracting discrimination.

In the labor market administration, we work to make it easy to develop by changing units and workplaces. This means that your employment is within the entire administration and that you may receive new assignments within other operations where your skills are needed the most.
